In 2021, I went to live in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire for a 6 months internship. Having organised music festivals in France before, I wanted to continue working in events on my free time.

While my friend eventually left the country, I started working with Thomas Lerousseau, a talented DJ and events manager.

We quickly started organising events every month, collaborating with local DJs and building a community of local and expatriates audiences. Every event was held in a different venue.

With a friend, we came up one night with a logo and a name. Then we organised our first event with a neighbourhood bar.

Thomas was in charge of partnerships and was the artist manager, while I would be in charge of locations, logistics and media. I covered all the events, produced small after movies, pictures and did some graphic design for the events.

When I left Côte d’Ivoire, Thomas kept organising events and partnering with artists. Today, Espace Coco has more than 4000 followers on Instagram and participates in the biggest festivals in Abidjan. Thomas took the project a step further, earning him an article in Le Monde Afrique.
